This picture is just stunning to me. I don’t know how to explain why. It’s not amazing photography, it’s not an inspiring pose.
It feels very, very human and real to me. You’re not just looking at her, she’s looking straight back at you.
I love this because she’s knock-kneed. I’m knock-kneed. The only other knock-kneed person I know is my mother. I have a bowlegged friend and two pigeon-toed friends, but I’m the only knock-kneed one! It took me til my teen years to realize it’s a normal thing I don’t need to be ashamed or embarrassed about. It took til last year to publicly admit it’s the absolute only thing about my body that I’ve ever been self conscious about. Even when I had body issues about my weight, I wasn’t actually self conscious as I was just being stupid and rather brainwashed.
